Product Information

Recommended as a food source for orphaned or rejected small animals or those nursing, but needing supplemental feeding. Formulated to provide a caloric pattern similar to mother's milk in protein, fat and carbohydrates.

Directions for Mixing: Gently shake or stir one part powdered GME into two parts of warm water (a part is a teaspoon, tablespoon or cup.) Do not use a blender. Reconstituted GME should be refrigerated.

Directions for Feeding: All small animals should receive their mother’s milk for at least 2 days, if possible. The colostrum milk gives extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some diseases. Reconstituted GME may be fed at the daily rate of 1/2 teaspoon 2 times per day. Consult your veterinarian for additional advice. Reconstituted GME should be fed at room or body temperature.

Storage: Reconstituted GME must be refrigerated. Discard unused portion after 24 hours. Open powder can be refrigerated for up to 3 months or can be frozen for up to 6 months.

A Common Question

Do your milk replacer powders need to be refrigerated?

Yes, all kitten and puppy milk replacers must be refrigerated after opening. Esbilac® and KMR® powders are milk-based and contain fat, therefore have the potential to spoil under certain conditions. They can also experience bacterial growth when stored improperly. The can of powder has to be kept in the refrigerator or freezer after it has been opened. The powders will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 months, or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
