Spotlight on a Healthy Pet: Solo the Horse

Meet Solo from We Are Flying Solo

To bring awareness to National Pet Obesity Awareness Day on October 12th, we decided to feature five healthy pets (and their fun & funky blogs)! We interviewed the PETS so have getting to know them and their personalities and be sure to ‘like’ their pictures at the top of our Facebook page!

HIGH JUMPER
The item in my PetAg Facebook picture is my cross country jump – my favorite pastime:  galloping and jumping!

AROUND MY HOUSE

  • My favorite thing to do in the summer ishealthy horseeat as much clover as possible.
  • The object in my house that I like best is… my Himalayan salt lick.
  • The funniest thing I’ve seen my owner do is… flip over my head.
  • The best food I’ve ever tasted: Candy Canes.

MY FAVORITE HUMAN
My “mom” – she gets all the itchy spots, always brings treats, and takes me to interesting places for much adventure.

ON MY WISHLIST
Hmmm, I am pretty sure I would love the carrot flavored horse treats.  Mom never does seem to have enough treats in her pocket – I’m a big horse, I need my foods!

DREAM JOB… IF I WERE HUMAN
A professional hurdle racer !

MY DREAM DATE
Go for a long gallop in the woods, then enjoy a picnic lunch of alfalfa and clover, followed by a nap in the shade.

MY BLOG WORLD: We Are Flying Solo
I think my favorite post is, “Little Melodies.”  It always reminds me to take a deep breath and enjoy the quiet pleasures that surround us.  My owner is a freshwater biologist, so she is usually damp and smells like river water when she arrives at the barn during the spring and summer.  She seems to be obsessed with this sport called “eventing” – I’m mostly okay with that, although I’m not so keen on the dressage part.  But she says I must tolerate it to get to the fun parts, the JUMPING!
