Holiday Leftovers, Just For The Ladies And Gents
It’s such a busy season that we can certainly be forgiven for wanting to share the bounty with our canine and feline friends. After all, we are indulging ourselves and enjoying things that we often deny ourselves the rest of the year. However, sharing the Thanksgiving turkey or the holiday pudding with our furry friends is not only unhealthy, but can certainly lead to tummy troubles for them. Our pet’s food is specifically designed for their gentle digestive system, and introducing them to table scraps and human food should only ever be done after consultation with your veterinarian. As a general rule, table scraps or human food is not something that we should be offering to our pet companions.
And naturally, our guests will also want to make sure that our pet companions are enjoying their holiday time as well. Unfortunately, many of our friends do not have experience with pet companions, and as such they do not know what is best for them. When having guests over for the holidays, it’s not only important to make them feel welcome, and part of that is letting them know what can and can’t be done in your home, and this of course means the safety rules for your pets. If your pets are particularly skittish or impressionable, it might be best to settle them somewhere comfortable for the duration of your guests stay. If you have guests for an extended period of time, perhaps introduce your pets and your guests slowly so that they will have the time to become accustomed to one another.
If you are looking for a treat to surprise or present, PetAg offers many tasty, healthy treats that are fun for stocking stuffers, or hiding around the Christmas tree (be sure to be careful where you place the presents, you don’t want your holiday decorations to end up trailed around the house).
Rawhide chews, while being an exceptional treat for your pet, also have numerous health benefits, amongst which are being great for your pet’s extended dental health. And of course, should you have little pet companions running around, giving them something to chew on will help distract them from your shoes!
If all of the holiday toing and froing is exhausting your pet, perhaps you can give them a helping hand with Vive Energy Bites are just the trick to help them regain their spunk and vivacity. Now it’s just time to find something to help you make your way through this busy time of year.
